Lead Solution Architect - NV2

Join Vertical Scope Group’s (VSG) Professional Services Division in Canberra as we seek a driven, highly skilled and competent, NV2 cleared, SFIA 5/6, Lead Solution Architect to join our award-winning team in supporting our Defence and National Intelligence Community customers.

About You

• Previous experience in determining the appropriate technologies to be used in the service development and delivery environment.
• Previous experience in monitoring emerging technologies and planning technology exploration, implementation and retirement.
• Previous experience in leading the development of architectures for complex solutions ensuring consistency with agreed requirements. Establishing policies, principles and practices for the selection of solution architecture components.
• Previously managed trade-offs and balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements within a significant area of the organisation.
• Previous experience in communicating proposed decisions to stakeholders.
• Previous experience in coordinating and managing the target architecture across multiple projects or initiatives. Maintaining a stable, viable architecture and ensuring consistency of design and adherence to appropriate standards across multiple projects or initiatives.
• Must hold a NV2 clearance minimum

About the role

• Defining the planned operation and maintenance of the solution within a production environment — include changes to services, process, organisation, and operating models as well as technology.
• Ensuring that existing and planned solution components are compatible with relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices.
• Taking account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices.
• Identifying appropriate cloud services.
• Provide technical leadership in the implementation of infrastructure solutions, infrastructure modernisation including network, cloud and on-premise environments.
• Lead the development of a scalable, secure and reliable network infrastructure network.
• Design and document architecture artefacts (high level designs, reference architectures, patterns and standards).
• Developing roadmaps to migrate components to cloud services.
• Developing and communicating an implementation roadmap.
• Providing guidance and risk-based governance to support solution implementation including managing requests for changes and deviations from specifications.
